LeBron the bookworm

LeBron James, the basketball legend known for his incredible athleticism and on-court prowess, also has a deep appreciation for books and learning. Despite his busy schedule as an NBA superstar, philanthropist, and entrepreneur, LeBron has shown time and again that he is a true bookworm.

One of LeBron’s most significant contributions to education is the “I PROMISE School” in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. This public school, which opened its doors in 2018, is not just an ordinary educational institution. It’s a place where LeBron’s passion for reading and learning takes center stage. The school’s curriculum includes an extended school day and year, focusing on STEM education, hands-on learning, and a strong emphasis on reading and literacy.

LeBron’s commitment to promoting literacy extends beyond the classroom. He launched the LeBron James Family Foundation’s “Books and Basketball” program, which aims to provide children with access to books and encourage a love of reading. Through this program, thousands of children have received free books, and LeBron has made it clear that he believes reading is a fundamental skill for success.
